THE OPPORTUNITY:

4 month contract working remote from May to August 2023 (full-time)

We are a small but mighty team and need a Software Developer Co-op to complement our Systems Architecture team as we continue to build new technologies and create ground-breaking business solutions. You will design, architect and develop cutting edge systems so we continue to be trend-setters and not trend-followers.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE:

    • Part of your day is spent keeping up to date on tech trends and emerging technologies.
    • You constantly try to come up with better ways to solve problems and automate our business.
    • You create and design systems and applications and enhance existing ones.
    • Contribute hands on to software coding at least 2/3 time.
    • You use and quickly learn new technologies.
    • You pivot between platforms: mobile, web, databases, backend, APIs and TV video technologies.
    • Follow best practices for agile development, DevOps, Continuous Delivery

ABOUT YOU:

    • Enjoy staying on top of newer technologies
    • Knowledge in multiple programming languages
    • Experience developing mobile applications and/or software solutions
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to work with a dynamic and awesome multi-skilled technology team.

      • What makes you shine?
    • Experience and/or interest in the following areas will be considered an asset:
    • Web technologies (HTML5, ReactJS, etc.)
    • Web development (backend), REST services and APIs (openapi), node.js. etc.
    • Network communications and protocols (TCP, HTTP 1.1/2+, GRPC, SSL, etc.)
    • Server side coding: databases (sql, gis, nosql, postgres), background services, web api, microservices architecture
    • Experience with cloud hosting and deployments such as AWS, GoogleCloud, Azure, etc.
    • Experience with building and hosting docker containers and/or Kubernetes
    • Experience with many different programming languages (typescript, node.js, golang, python, C/C++, java, and other scripting languages such as bash)

      • Some understanding of:
    • Different systems architecture such as Intel and ARM, their capabilities and limits
    • High level understanding of parallel computing (multicore/threading, gpu computing, cuda, opencl, distributed computing, etc.) as well as asynchronous programming
    • Mobile development (iOS and/or Android) can be an asset
    • You like to work hard, but you also like to have FUN at work!!!!
